While Waiting for the Next Podcast
I’ve got two new interviews lined up for the show with a couple of guests who are doing stuff with the brick we haven’t really covered before. But while I wait for those to finish sorting themselves out, I thought I would post my latest personal project which was finished last week.
A couple years ago when the first Clone Wars trailer leaked, I attempted to recreate that trailer in LEGO. I got half way done, then gave up. Since then I’ve been learning the ins and outs of Blender by working on other projects, trying to become the best at that program as I can be.
Two weeks ago I decided I needed to render something to see how much I’ve learned. This old project was the perfect vehicle to test with. And here is the result.

Wait, this was yours? I thought few times that I should send link of this video to you.. Amazing work!
outstanding, james! you are clearly approaching Jedi Master status.
Awesome job James! The whole thing was very well done. Can’t wait for the next podcasts!
@TheQ Heh, that is kind of funny. I’m curious, where/how did you see it?
@Will Thanks! Though I sadly I need to abandon by “Jedi” training for my next project, put down my lightsaber, and put on my poncho and gun belt
Very very very nice work.
Lovely, James, lovely. If I may add a suggestion, although I don’t want to criticize you and I don’t know the ins and outs of working in this program, I’d try adding shadows under the gunships. That’d make it feel more like the gunships were more tangible, but this is very nice indeed.
James, I found the video via finnish Brickfilming forum where one of the members had started new thread for it.
